![]() ![]() Unfortunately, Groncicles can never make the Isle of Berk their home, as it is essential for them to remain in a cold environment. They also have a tendency to freeze the water around them as they swim. It may initially appear that these dragons lack the ability to cause much harm (barring the fearsome spikes on their chins), but with ice in their veins and liquid nitrogen fire, the Groncicle is not a dragon you would want to cross.Įverything about these dragons reminds you of their home – they are icy blue and white in color, the spines on their back look like snowy mountains, and the spikes on their chin resemble icicles. It is essential that young Viking trainers remember to not underestimate Groncicles. While these dragons closely resemble their cousins, the Gronckles, their bodies are more streamlined, undoubtedly contributing to their agility in the seas. The Groncicle is considered to be a member of the Boulder Class however, unlike other dragons in this class, it is quite comfortable in water. At least we were both alive and had avoided becoming the Death Song’s dinner. I looked at my poor dragon encased in amber. My brother swooped in on Wingburst who caught us with his long Thunderdrum tail and carried us away from the Death Song’s clutches. As we plummeted downwards, I shrieked as I saw the shadow of the Death Song hovering overhead. It reared its head back, and out shot a reddish-orange substance from its mouth that encased my dragon and in the blink of an eye, we were falling through the air, my dragon’s wings trapped within the amber. Its wings were beautifully colored and patterned, and frills covered its body. Immediately, Blazewing started to fly in the direction of the singing, with me desperately trying to steer him away and that’s when I caught a glimpse of it: the Death Song. I once had the misfortune of encountering this vicious dragon when I was out flying on my Monstrous Nightmare, Blazewing, with my brother on his Thunderdrum, Wingburst. Behind its enchanting voice and beauty, there lies a creature vicious enough to eat its own kind and possesses the ability to imprison an entire village in the amber it spits out. The Death Song is perhaps one of the most dangerous dragons that I’ve ever encountered. While training these beautiful and enchanting creatures at the School of Dragons can be dangerous, we know that a well-trained and intuitive Viking such as yourself can rise to the occasion! ![]() With a shot limit of 8, an acceleration of 4.2 and a max speed of 8.2, Death Songs are powerful enough to shake the skies! Those brave students who can tame these godlike dragons will gain a loyal friend for life. They also lurk in the abandoned Ship Graveyard, where they spend their days hunting the giant eels that jump from the ocean’s murky depths. Melody Island has been infamously renamed to “Death Song Island” because of its infestation of these dragons. When not invading Berk, untamed Death Songs can be found in several locations throughout the archipelago. Thunderdrums are immune to the Death Song's call because they have poor hearing! There are only a few creatures with the ability to face a Death Song unscathed. They use their song to lure dragons to them, only to trap them in an amber cocoon. With their vibrant scales, frills, and enchanting call, it’s easy to become entranced by Death Songs, but beware! Beneath this resplendent exterior lies an invasive and cannibalistic species. We encourage any student confronting this Mystery Class dragon to tread lightly, for the Death Song is as wild as a typhoon! It does not breathe fire, but spits a sticky amber-like substance to trap its victims. Beautiful as a sunrise and as brutal as a Berserker, the Death Song is a notoriously hypnotic species of dragons.
